Career Tip of the Month: Take Inventory of Your Skills

Before planning your next career move, pause to take inventory of the skills you already have and the ones you want to strengthen. This quick self-check can help you choose learning opportunities that support your next step.

Many professionals focus on the position they want next but spend less time identifying the skills that will help them get there. Such skills as communication, project management, leadership, data analysis or technical expertise can be grown through small, consistent steps.

This month, take one small step toward your next career goal by doing the following:

  • Identify your top three strengths
  • Choose one skill you’d like to develop further
  • Explore a learning resource or development opportunity related to that skill

Remember, career growth isn’t just about moving into a new role. It’s also about continuously building the knowledge and capabilities that prepare you for future opportunities.
