Respiratory Therapist

A Respiratory Therapist assesses, treats, and cares for patients with breathing disorders. This position assumes primary responsibility for all respiratory care treatments, including the supervision of respiratory therapy technicians. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.

Education requirements

Completion of a Registered Respiratory Therapist program

Certifications, registrations and licenses

Registered Respiratory Therapist license – RRT and Advanced Cardia Life Support certification – ACLS
