Pharmacy Technician

A pharmacy technician locates, dispenses, packs and label medication for a patient that is then reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist before being dispensed to the patient. A pharmacy tech might also assist with administrative tasks such as processing insurance claims, tracking inventory, and filing paperwork.

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Advanced levels require a pharmacy technician diploma or associates degree from an accredited program

Licensure, Certification, Registration Requirements.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT)
  • Registration with State Board (as applicable)
