Certified Medical Assistant
A certified medical assistant can perform both clinical and administrative roles. Common duties include checking patients in and out upon arrival and departure, answering phone calls and questions, assisting providers with exams and procedures, working in the electronic health record, performing EKG, phlebotomy, and laboratory procedures, and helping patients stay up to date with preventive testing.
