About Megan Barry

Megan Barry is the former mayor of Nashville, Tennessee. During her time in office, she lost her only son, Max, to a drug overdose. Since leaving office, she has used her platform to reduce stigma around substance use disorder and support those affected by addiction, including their loved ones, through advocacy and public speaking.

Born in California and raised in Kansas, Barry earned a BS from Baker University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Her career has included roles as a corporate executive, independent consultant specializing in business ethics and corporate responsibility, and adjunct professor. She is currently running for U.S. Congress.

Barry has served on several boards and spoken for numerous organizations and events. She lives with her husband, Bruce Barry, and their two rescue dogs, Winslow and Natasha.
