A respiratory therapist (RT) is a health professional who helps assess and treat breathing problems. They work with doctors and nurses to evaluate lung function, develop a care plan, and provide treatment or teach people how to give themselves treatments at home.
Respiratory Therapists can specialize in neonatal or pediatrics, geriatric, pulmonary rehab, polysomnography, critical care, home care, and pulmonary diagnostics.

Provides all areas of assigned facility with equipment/supplies necessary for optimal patient care. Ensures that all patient care equipment/supplies comply with Infection Control and all other regulatory guidelines. Maintains inventory and delivers appropriate equipment/supplies to necessary departments/areas of the hospital to adequately utilization all resources.
Requirements: Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program that is approved by the CAAHEP or CoARC as a second year student in good standing.

Requirements: Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program that is approved by the CAAHEP or CoARC. Pending testing and licensure.
Provides respiratory care using critical thinking skills learned and refined through education and experience as a Respiratory Therapist. A Certified Respiratory Therapist demonstrates these skills by successfully completing examinations administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and earning the credential CRT. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.
Requirements:
Preferred/Desired: Current state license.
Recent clinical respiratory care experience (hospital, home care, skilled nursing facility) and/or previous respiratory care practice.
Minimum: Current state license.
State licensure and/or “CRT” credential in accordance with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Provides respiratory care using critical thinking skills learned and refined through education and experience as a Respiratory Therapist. A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) demonstrates these skills by successfully completing examinations administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and earning the credential “RRT.” A Registered Respiratory Therapist is able to assess, evaluate results, and implement complex methods of providing care. Participates in the delivery of care and functions as a specialty clinical resource for other caregivers. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.
Requirements: Preferred: 1 yr experience in healthcare setting to include recent clinical respiratory care experience. Minimum: Current state CRT credential, basic computer knowledge using Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office.
Supervises respiratory therapy services and staff using effective financial and operational management techniques to assure quality and timely administration of respiratory therapy treatment modalities and necessary tests for patient diagnosis.
Requirements: Preferred: 2.5 yrs experience in healthcare setting to include recent clinical respiratory care experience. Minimum: Basic computer literacy skills required; Excellent communication skills. Able to manage and train team members.
Manages the overall delivery of assigned services by coordinating personnel and activities in order to accomplish timely and accurate performance of diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
Requirements: Preferred: 5 years in Respiratory Care with 3 years of management/supervisory experience. Minimum: 5+ years experience in Respiratory Care to include management/supervisory experience and project management tools.
Provides innovative leadership to maximize the contributions of the Respiratory Therapy Department to the overall hospital performance through effective planning, including human and financial resource management, to result in quality outcomes in line with the goals of the institution. Responsible for assuring hospital compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting organization standards.
Requirements: Preferred: 7 years in Respiratory Care with 3 years of management/supervisory experience. Minimum: 5+ years experience in Respiratory Care to include management/supervisory experience.
