Physicians are highly trained medical professionals who have a license to diagnose and treat a patient’s condition usually in a specialty area.
Advanced Practice Providers can see patients independently under the oversight of a supervising physician and are responsible for diagnosing a wide range of illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans and educating patients on how to prevent chronic disease. They include physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives, and clinical nurse specialists.
