There are a number of careers in the pharmacy field. You can become an entry-level pharmacy clerk with a high school diploma, but advanced positions require professional or doctoral degrees. Whatever pharmacy role you decide to pursue, this is a career that requires strict attention to detail and a solid understanding of the effects of pharmaceuticals.

Settings where the majority of the workload consists of gathering and processing patient / clinical information for prior authorizations, refill authorizations, or patient assistance applications. 2. High risk compounding, 3. Tech check tech 4. Med history 5. NICU/Pediatric 6. Other duties that require certification / program completion (i.e. Narcotic/ASHP Diversion Certification). PTCB certification required; registration with the state board of pharmacy. Experience with Microsoft suite applications, automated pharmacy equipment. One year hospital experience.
Organizes and coordinates daily technician assignments required to suport and maintain safe medication use processes. Performs other levels of technician duties during shortages. This position is under the direction of the area manager. Incumbent is assigned to work 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Subject to overtime and call back as required by the hospital.
Required: CPHT. Previous supervisory experience. Minimum: Experience in automated pharmacy equipment. Technician training program/academy and/or previous hospital pharmacy experience.

Works under the direct supervision of the System 340B Manager which includes detailed auditing of data, review of split billing software, implementation and assistance with all areas of the program to ensure compliance and integrity of the program.
Required: Minimum one year experience as a pharmacy technician with purchasing. inventory control and pharmacy software experience. Certified Pharmacy Technician License. Excel and Word experience.
Preferred experience with medication list and medical records in EPIC. Experience with McKesson Connect reporting and ordering. Two years experience in a hospital pharmacy including understanding of mixtures and automatic dispensing devices. Preferred experience with 340B split billing software and compliance of the program. Power Point experience.
| Education from an accredited institution or experience as listed. Education of certificate program or two year college degree; Completion of Epic certification within 90 days of completing training. 3 years experience in related field dependent on education. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum: Proficiency in communicating and performing the techniques of information systems assessment and implementation. Project management and organization skills. Proficiency in communicating and performing Information System assessments. Preferred: Project management or Information Technology training. |
This position is focused on providing exceptional care to patients, working closing with providers and leveraging various resources to ensure patients are getting the most out of their specialty pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Technician – Specialty Pharmacy is responsible for dispensing and packing pharmaceuticals for BSP patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with dispensing regulations and established guidelines. This team member is also responsible for supporting pharmacists to manage prior authorizations and assist patients to obtain financial assistance for their prescriptions. The individual in this position supports the BSP Director, BSP Pharmacy Staff and Clinical Pharmacists to ensure that all duties as assigned are fulfilled accordingly.
Required: 5 years experience in outpatient pharmacy or clinic setting
