There are a number of careers in the pharmacy field. You can become an entry-level pharmacy clerk with a high school diploma, but advanced positions require professional or doctoral degrees. Whatever pharmacy role you decide to pursue, this is a career that requires strict attention to detail and a solid understanding of the effects of pharmaceuticals.

PTCB certification required; registration with the state board of pharmacy                           Experience:  Advanced competencies in any of the following: 1. Settings where the majority of the workload consists of gathering and processing patient /clinical information for prior authorizations, refill authorizations, or patient assistance applications. 2. High risk compounding, 3. Tech check tech 4. Med history 5. NICU/Pediatric 6. Other duties that require certification / program completion (i.e. Narcotic/ASHP Diversion Certification)                                                                                                       Preferred: Experience with automated pharmacy equipment. Demonstrates leadership abilities.Percipio: Mid Manager Training Series; Participate in 7/12 Monthly Skill Build Workshops; Present on a topic/foundational competency/issue at least 1x a quarter to team during team meeting(s).≥ 18 hours annually in professional development activities via Percipio platform; volunteer for stretch assignments/projects; participate in cross-disciplinary and/or entity level projects (e.g., hospital week, work stream groups, etc.) ≥ 1 external course related to CEU and/or Pharmacy topic; consistent ratings as solid and/or high performer; current licenses and certifications as required.

Certified Pharmacy Technician License. Excel and Word experience.  Preferred: Experience with medication list and medical records in EPIC. Experience with McKesson Connect reporting and ordering. Two years experience in a hospital pharmacy including understanding of mixtures and automatic dispensing devices. Preferred experience with 340B split billing software and compliance of the program. Power Point experience.
Percipio: Career Accelerator Courses; Participate in 7/12 Monthly Skill Build Workshops; Present on a topic/foundational competency/issue at least 1x a quarter to team during team meeting(s).≥ 18 hours annually in professional development activities via Percipio platform; volunteer for stretch assignments/projects; participate in cross-disciplinary and/or entity level projects (e.g., hospital week, work stream groups, etc.) ≥ 1 external course related to CEU and/or Pharmacy topic; consistent ratings as solid and/or high performer; current licenses and certifications as required. 

Education from an accredited institution or experience as listed. Education of certificate program or two year college degree; Completion of Epic certification within 90 days of completing training. 3 years experience in related field dependent on education. Bachelor’s degree preferred.Minimum: Proficiency in communicating and performing the techniques of information systems assessment and implementation. Project management and organization skills.
