Have you ever had your blood drawn, throat swabbed, biopsy, had a urine specimen collected? Have you ever wondered what happens to these specimens and how you get your results?

Laboratory professionals play an important role in your health by detecting, diagnosing, treating and monitoring disease. They work in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, and reference labs and have undergone special training to produce quality results for patients.


Preferred/Desired: Training as acquired in an approved phlebotomy training program. Hospital Phlebotomy experience.

Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill
to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Basic computer literacy skills.

Education:  High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Completion Phlebotomy Course – Accredited Required. 2 Years of College Preferred.      
                        
Experience: 6 months Phlebotomy Experience in Lieu of Course Requirement Required. Healthcare/Medical-Clinical Preferred.                            
License/Certification/Registries: (valid for the state): Any applicable certifications. i.e. drug screening, breath alcohol if job requires these skills.  

Minimum: Successful completion Phlebotomy and 12-Lead EKG testing courses. Type 45 wpm.
Must be able to operate various office equipment such as PC, multi-line phone system, copier, facsimile, and printer. Must have good phone and public relations skills. Word and Excel helpful.     

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer literacy skills.     
                                                  
Experience:  1 year Healthcare/Medical experience required.  

Preferred: Hospital Phlebotomy experience.                                                                                                     

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. 
                                   
Experience: Experience with Microsoft suite applications, automated pharmacy equipment. 6 Months Healthcare/Medical – Phlebotomist Required.              
License/Certification/Registries (valid for the state): National Phlebotomy Certification Preferred.    

Preferred: 100 sticks at a clinical site preferred.                                 
Minimum: Successful completion of Phlebotomy and 12-Lead EKG testing courses as scheduled.
                 

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.   
                              
Preferred/Desired: Completion of Phlebotomy Course-Accredited Preferred.

Additional Education Requirements: 100 sticks at a clinical site preferred.   
                                       
Experience: 1 year Healthcare/Medical- Phlebotomy Required.          
                
License/Certification/Registries (valid for the state): National Phlebotomy Certification Required, or National Phlebotomy Certification within
One Year of Employment Required.

Minimum: Successful completion of Phlebotomy and 12-Lead EKG testing courses as scheduled.

Entry Level

Education: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited MLT program, or successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold
or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist                                    

Experience: Clinical laboratory experience preferred                             

License/Certification/Registries: National certification in concordance with current federal and/or state regulations. Full
certification must be obtained within six months of hire date

Education: Bachelor’s degree Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Technology (MT) from an accredited institution Program                                                   

Experience: Clinical Laboratory Experience 

License/Certification/Registries: National certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State Regulations.                                                                                               

Education: Bachelor’s degree Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Technology (MT) from an accredited institution                                 

Preferred/Desired: Two (2) years of experience as Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.

License/Certification/Registries: National registration or certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State
Regulations. ASCP;NCA;AMT

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Medical Technology Required, or Bachelor’s Degree Related Field Required.                                                     

Experience: 4 years Healthcare/Medical –        

License/Certification/Registries (valid for the state): National Phlebotomy Certification
Preferred.                                     

License/Certification (valid for state of operation): ASCP or AMT certification as Medical Technologist (MT) required or
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required, or discipline specific ASCP or AMT certification for non-generalist
positions required. TN Supervisor License.
