Career Tip of the Month: Stay Tech Relevant by Scheduling “Micro-learning” into Your Week
Treat learning like a standing meeting — not a “when I have time” task. Make time in your weekly schedule to work on you!
Try this:
- Schedule 15–30 minutes weekly for learning
- Explore tools like Skillsoft Percipio (AI, digital skills, trends, etc.)
- Focus on one skill each month
- Apply what you learn right away
Why these things matter:
- They help keep you aligned with workplace changes
- They help you build a growth mindset
- They help you make progress without burnout
Leaders: You can play a significant role in the development of your team. Share one key takeaway with your team each month to reinforce learning and inspire others.
Identify a trusted colleague, leader or mentor, and ask one specific question: “What is one thing I could do better?” Then listen without defensiveness, reflect on what they say and take one concrete action.
Growth doesn’t happen in a vacuum. One of the most powerful things you can do for your career is to actively seek feedback, not just wait for it.
